Hello!
My name is Avery Thielman. I am a third-year industrial design student at The Ohio State University with a double minor in art history and disability studies. I am passionate about exploring how thoughtful design can bring both beauty and function into people’s lives. My interests range from sewing and fashion to healthcare and childcare innovation, where I see opportunities to make an impact through design.
Alongside my studies, I am also a student-athlete on the official Ohio State cheerleading team, where we support our football, women’s volleyball, and men’s and women’s basketball teams, in addition to competing annually at the national cheerleading competition. Being a part of a team has taught me the value of discipline, teamwork, time management skills, and communication. All skills I have been able to utilize at both practice and games, and in the classroom.
My motivation comes from the desire to help others. Through design, I aim to create meaningful solutions and enrich the lives of those around me.
